The Franchise RegistryTM is the only registry of Australian franchise systems.
The Franchise Registry makes registration available to all franchise brands that meet the registration requirements.
The Franchise Registry™ lists all franchise brands known to be operating in Australia.
Registered brands have satisfied the registry that they are operating as a genuine franchise brand through the acceptance of the terms and conditions of the registry together with the provision of their current year Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreement. They have also confirmed to the registry that they are operating under the Australian Franchising Code of Conduct. Registration may also be provided, at the Registrar's discretion, to brands where sufficient publicly accessible information is available to support their inclusion.
Those franchise systems listed on the Franchise Registry™ with the suffix [PROVISIONAL] are existing franchise brands that have been granted registration pending the provision of their franchise documentation.
Registered franchise systems are provided with a Certificate of Registration and allocated a Franchise Registration (FRUNS) Number, which they are entitled to quote in all dealings. Registration status is updated annually.
Data collected from registered franchise systems is kept confidential, but may be aggregated and provided to Government and other regulatory bodies to assist in the development and administration of the Australian franchise sector.
The Franchise Registry™ does not vet or verify compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct nor represent that franchise systems included on the Franchise Registry meet any legal obligations. The Franchise Registry reserves the right to decline to register any franchise system or remove any franchise system from the Franchise Registry™ at any time and without cause or reason.
